Abstract:

THE FEMOROACETABULAR IMPINGEMENT (FAI) CAUSES PAIN AND REDUCTION OF RANGE OF MOTION. FAI ALSO CAUSES AB-NORMAL CONTACT STRESS AND POTENTIAL JOINT DAMAGE AROUND HIP. WE INVESTIGATED THE KINEMATICS OF A HIP JOINT WHEN A FAI OCCURS. IN THIS STUDY WE PUT FORWARD THE FOLLOWING HYPOTHESES: DOES CHANGING THE KINEMATICS OF MOTION AFFECT THE CONTACT SURFACE/FORCES? DOES CHANGING THE KINEMATICS OF MOTION ELIMINATE THE NEED OF CUTTING THE BUMP? THE STUDY USES A FINITE ELEMENT (FE) MODEL OF THE HIP JOINT TO ANALYSE THE BIOMECHANICS OF THE HIP AT THE IM-PINGEMENT ZONE. THE MODEL WAS INITIALLY ANALYSED USING THE ORIGINAL KINEMATICS OF THE JOINT. THE KINEMATICS WAS THEN CHANGED WITH A STEPWISE CHANGING THE CENTRE OF ROTATION TO EVALUATE ITS EFFECT ON THE FAI CONTACT ZONE. THE STUDY DEMONSTRATED THAT THE JOINT MOTIONS SUCH AS FLEXION, ADDUCTION AND INTERNAL ROTATION CHANGED WITH VARIATION OF THE GAP BETWEEN THE FEMUR AND THE ACETABULUM

Abstract:

In this research, in order to investigate the EFFECT of the piezoelectric patch which is used as a sensor or actuator in rotating flexible structures such as a helicopter blade, the free vibrations of the rotating rectangular sheet with and without the piezoelectric patch have been presented. First-order shear deformation theory is considered for plate displacement and piezoelectric field. Considering the EFFECT of Coriolis acceleration, centrifugal acceleration and centrifugal in-plane forces, the equations of motion are derived from Hamilton's principle and the electromechanical couple equation is obtained from Maxwell's equation. For piezoelectric, two electrical conditions, open circuit and closed circuit, which are used in sensors and actuators, respectively, have been considered. The equations are discretized with the help of the numerical method of generalized differential squares and the matrices of inertia mass, eccentricity, Coriolis and stiffness matrix are obtained. Natural frequency values for beam and rotating plate have been compared in Abaqus software. Also, the values obtained from the numerical solution in MATLAB have been verified with articles and ABAQUS, which have high accuracy. The EFFECT of parameters such as hub radius, ROTATION speed, sheet thickness, aspect ratio, piezoelectric patch thickness and applied voltage on the natural frequency of the system has also been investigated.

Abstract:

Introduction: Intentional and non-intentional changes achieved in rhinoplasty, especially in two important nasal indices (nasal tip ROTATION and nasal tip projection) are not constant and tip ROTATION and tip projection loss will gradually occur in these patients. In this study we aimed to quantify and compare the rate of these losses in two common rhinoplasty techniques -open versus closed rhinoplasty. Methods: This clinical trial was performed on 68 patients in two groups - namely open (O) and closed (C) rhinoplasty groups. Nasal tip ROTATION (NTR) and projection (NTP) 4 weeks and 1 year after surgery were measured using standard photographs taken from the patients. The rate of alteration in these measurements within the said period was analyzed and compared in the two groups. Results: NTR loss in groups (O) and (C) measured 7.4 and 2.64, respectively (P<0.001). NTP loss in groups (O) and (C) was 2.44% and 2.26%, respectively (P=0.78).Discussion: The consistency of surgical results and structural properties of nasal skeleton (tip ROTATION and tip projection) are higher in closed rhinoplasty technique compared with the open approach.

Abstract:

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the EFFECT of ROTATION factor, ROTATION speed and irrigation duration on Wind Drift and Evaporation Losses (WDEL) of impact and gear driven sprinklers. Experiments were carried out in the research farm of Kurdistan University and in an area of 3600 m2 by single sprinkler method on two Komet R8 and Luxor sprinklers. The results showed: 1- Up to the wind speed of 11.5 km/h and the air temperature of 40 °C, there is no significant difference between the WDEL of sprinklers2- The average WDEL of Komet sprinkler in low wind speed is 8.5% and Luxor is 10.4% and their difference is not significant. With the increase of wind speed from low to moderate, increase in WDEL of Komet was 125% and Luxor was 21% and their difference was significant (P<0.05) 3- In both sprinklers WDEL increased with increasing working pressure, but this increasing was not significant 4- In both sprinklers, WDEL increases with the increase of vapor pressure deficit, but this increase was significant only in Komet and in the high range (P<0.05). 5- By increasing the irrigation duration from 1 h to 3 h, the WDEL of Komet decreased by 24%. 6- By increasing the sprinkler ROTATION speed from 1.5 Rpm to 3.5 Rpm, the WDEL of Komet decreased by 13.4%. In general, the Komet had more WDEL potential than the Luxor and in the irrigation events of farmers, the WDEL is lower than the reported values of the research.

Abstract:

Objective: Dental educational curricula are under constant modification and improvement. However, designing a comprehensive, efficient, and flexible curriculum is still challenging for the authorities. An efficient curriculum should obviate the educational needs of students and promote their knowledge and expertise for future practice. Time planning of clinical ROTATIONs is highly important for optimization of the learning process. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of two different timing models of clinical ROTATIONs, namely four versus two ROTATIONs in each semester. Materials and Methods: A total of 74 dental students and 54 faculty members of Tehran University of Medical Science that experienced both ROTATION models for two consecutive years (2018 and 2019) participated in this study. A questionnaire was designed to assess different aspects of the two timing-models. Results: A one-sample t-test indicated that students' and faculty members' mean perception were significantly better regarding the two-ROTATION program. Conclusion: This study indicated that changing the time planning of educational ROTATIONs can affect different aspects of education.

Abstract:

In order to evaluate the EFFECT of crop ROTATION on weed community, a 3 - year field study was conducted with four crops including wheat, canola, fodder corn and sorghum in Mashhad. The statistical design was randomized complete block, with ROTATION factor in four levels, and three replications. Weed study was undertaken on two periods, first before crop canopy closure and second before crop harvesting. The EFFECT of ROTATION was investigated on the last crop. The results indicated that both ROTATION and previous crop have significant EFFECT on weed dry matter and density. Weed dominant species and weed flora also affected by ROTATION. All variables were higher in the first period than the second. In most cases board leaf weed dry matter and density were higher than narrow leaf weed. In both periods, only forth ROTATION had highest weed dry matter and density. Previous crop especially canola was a volunteer plant on the next crop and only in the first period.

Abstract:

To study the EFFECT of 5 commonly grown crops in Golestan province in ROTATION with wheat, a randomized complete block design experiment, with 4 replications, was used. Seeds of corn, sesame, sunflower, soybean and cotton were planted in a field that was previously under wheat cultivation. At the end of their growing season, samples were taken from their rhizosphere and their mycorrhizal fungi population, species richness and percentage of mycorrhizal roots were compared with those of wheat. The results showed that wheat ROTATION with corn or sesame or sunflower was more EFFECTive than with soybean or cotton and can conserve population and diversity of these useful fungi.

Abstract:

In order to evaluate the EFFECT of crop ROTATION on weed community, a three–year field study was conducted with 4 crops including wheat, canola, fodder corn and sorghum in a research farm of agricultural faculty of Mashhad. The statistical design was arandomized complete block with ROTATION factor in four levels and three replications. Weeds study was laid out on two periods, first before crop canopy closure and second before crop harvesting. The EFFECT of ROTATION was investigated on the last crop. The results indicate that both ROTATION and previous crop have significant EFFECT on weed dry matter and density. Weed dominant species and weed flora were also affected by ROTATION. All parameters in the first period were higher than the second period. In most cases boardleaf weed dry matter and density were higher than narrowleaf weed. Second and third ROTATIONs had the highest dry matter and weed density respectively. Previous crop, especially canola, was as volunteer crop on the next plant but only in the first period. This research emphasizes the EFFECT of crop ROTATION on unstability of weeds communities. Crop and sequential cropping system have an influence on both periods, but the EFFECT of corn was higher in the second period.

Abstract:

Background: Testicular torsion is caused by the ROTATION of the spermatic cord and an emergency case, so surgery is necessary to correct the torsion and treat acute ischemia. One of the treatment methods to reduce complications is the use of herbal compounds. This study aimed to investigate the EFFECTs of marjoram and Vitamin C on testicular torsion in order to reduce its complications. Materials and Methods: For this purpose, 30 adult male Wistar rats were used, which were randomly divided into 5 groups of 6 and were treated for 21 days. The control group was given distilled water orally. The positive control group had ROTATION/recirculation induction without receiving extract and vitamin C. The other groups received induction of ROTATION/reROTATION with one of the cases in this way: The third group: injection of marjoram extract (250 mg/kg), the fourth group: injection of vitamin C (20 mg/kg), the fifth group: injection of vitamin C and marjoram. At the end, histopathological parameters, sperm parameters and oxidative stress factors were evaluated with ANOVA test. Results: The average percentage of progressive movements, normal shapes and the number of sperms in the groups treated with vitamin C and marjoram extract significantly (P<0. 05) increased. In the group receiving the mixture of extract and vitamin C, the spermatogenic tubes had appropriate density and diameter and various cell lines. Conclusion: Marjoram extract along with vitamin C improves sperm parameters, increases sperm count and reduces spermatogenic tubule atrophy in rats.
